Star House Air Conditioning
Star House, Sheffield City Centre
November 2012
A project undertaken on behalf of Sheffield Futures. The 5 storey building that Sheffield Futures occupies was having a new air conditioning / heating system fitted. Bingham and Clarkson was contracted to supply and install the supporting electrical works.
Each of the 5 floors were fitted with 2 new 20 Amp radial circuits to supply the ceiling mounted air conditioning cartridges. The circuits were installed above the existing suspended ceiling using a catenary wire system. The main external heat exchangers required new electricity supplies. To this end 2 new 3 phase distribution panels were fitted to an old boiler room with radial circuits supplying the heat exchangers run in steel wire armoured cable mounted to a new tray support system. The 2 new distribution panels were then connected to the existing main electricity supply, tested and put to service.
