PAT Testing
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is an important part of every health and safety policy. The Health and Safety Executive states that 25% of all reportable electrical accidents involve portable appliances. The electricity at work regulations requires employers, employees and the self employed to take reasonably practical steps to prevent danger from the use of portable appliances in the following circumstances:
- Where appliances are used by employees
- Where the public may use appliances in establishments such as hospitals, schools, hotels and shops.
- Where appliances are supplied or hired.
- Where appliances are repaired or serviced.
Practically this means a program of regular testing. Bingham and Clarkson are able to carry out the necessary tests and provide reports on the condition of your portable appliances. Minor repairs (new plug heads, replacement fuses) are included in the price per item we quote, something many PAT testing companies levy a hefty surcharge for.
Our testing staff are qualified to City and Guilds standard (2377-002 Portable Appliance Testing Examination). As NICEIC approved contractors and a Trustmark registered company you can be assured of a thorough, professional job.
